Get Your Feet Wet With the Blue Shark

Those who know tequila, know it's a love/hate relationship. If you're interested in testing out your tequila legs, we present an interesting way to make nice with the Mexican nemesis.

Blue Shark
1 1/2 ounces tequila
1 1/2 ounces vodka
1/2 ounce curacao

Pour all ingredients into a shaker full of ice and shake vigorously. Strain the mixture into an ice-filled old-fashioned glass and enjoy.

The highlight is the electric blue color of the blue curacao (pronounced KUR-a-SAH-o) calls to mind the deep azure of a clear sky and the blinding white sand beaches of a tropical paradise. Blue Curacao is relatively inexpensive mix (about $10) to have around for a number of tequila, rum, and vodka recipes. The orange citrus flavor is perfectly suited for tempering a bad tequila's bite. Try Patron Silver for a smooth tequila that's not entirely wasted on a cocktail. Tanqueray was a good choice as well. If you prefer your drinks sweeter, add a little OJ to taste and watch the drink change to an opaque neon green.
