A Fiesta for the Mouth
We present to you another drink to temper any ill feelings toward our Mexican amigo, Tequila.
WEEK 4:
Mexican Madras
1 ounce gold (anejo) tequila
3 ounces cranberry juice
1/2 ounce fresh orange juice
1/4 ounce fresh lime juice
Orange slice
Shake the liquid ingredients vigorously with ice. Strain into an ice-filled old-fashioned glass. Garnish with the orange wedge.
This drink puts an elegant spin on a typically rougher alcohol. Like an exhibit at the zoo, it allows you to appreciate a dangerous beast from a safe distance without actually climbing into the cage with it. This slightly sweet and mellow drink is the perfect starter to a long-deserved weekend, as well as the perfect conclusion to a well-spent weekend. For this concoction reserve the top-shelf tequila for something else. Instead, try Jose Cuervo Especial, which is a solid gold tequila, perfect for mixing. Enjoy!
