Aye aye, Sir!
All aboard the good ship Happy Sot. For those who think that bourbon can't be enjoyed in the warmer weather, we defy you to call this one "unsuitable" for any day of the year.
WEEK 8:
Commodore Cocktail
1 1/2 ounces bourbon
3/4 ounces creme de cacao
1/2 ounce fresh lemon juice
Shake the ingredients with ice until the shaker starts to frost. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
This drink is in answer to the need for a refreshment that gets the job done with a three ingredient maximum. There are certainly great drinks with more parts, but the easier it is to make, the sooner you can sit and enjoy it. Try Bullet, Rowan's Creek, Gentleman Jack—-hell, any bourbon—-and you won't be disappointed. But fresh lemon juice is essential and will have the greatest impact on the flavor, so don't try to slip in some bottled juice from concentrate. Consider yourselves warned. Cheers!
