It's winter. Enough said. Put on some Jimmy Buffett, crank up the heat, put a bottle coconut sunblock by the heater, and enjoy your very own Bama Breeze. Say what you want about Jimmy—-he may well be the "Krusty the Klown" of musician sellouts—-but the man still is, and will remain, the soundtrack for beach drinking. Give your mind a vacation and a little bit of tequila.

WEEK 45:

Chapala

1 1/2 ounces silver tequila
1/2 teaspoon Cointreau
1 ounce fresh orange juice
1/2 ounce fresh lemon juice
1/4 ounce grenadine
Orange slice

Shake the liquid ingredients with ice. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Twist the lime peel over the drink, and drop it in.

I used Patron silver, which is arguably wasted in a fruit juice concoction. But I believe good tequila is never really wasted if you're drinking it. If you don't have Cointreau, you can substitute Triple Sec. If you don't have that either, at least you have tequila, right? Now I'm out of the main ingredient and salivating for more, so I will brave the freezing temperatures to get to Salud Tequila Lounge a fantastic Chicago establishment that specializes in...wait for it...tequila.
